<p>Interested in how Kalshi works? It is the first fully regulated exchange where you can purchase and sell contracts based on the outcome of events. For example, if NASA announces a manned mission to the moon, the prices of these event contracts reflect the traders' beliefs about the likelihood of its occurrence. If you believe it will happen, you can buy contracts for it. These contracts are priced between 1¢ and 99¢ and can be sold at any time. At close, each contract is valued at $1 if your prediction is correct.</p>

<p>Kalshi operates within the bounds of federal regulation as a Designated Contract Market (DCM) overseen by the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC). Clearing services for Kalshi are provided by CFTC-regulated clearinghouse LedgerX LLC, which safeguards members' funds and facilitates trade clearing.</p>

In the case of Kalshi's event contracts, prices reflect traders' perceived likelihood of the event occurring.</p>
